Haryana is a state of India situated in the north of the country bordered on the north by the states of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, to the west and south by Rajasthan, and to the east by Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand separated by the Yamuna River. Currently the state's population exceeds 25 million inhabitants, while in the past its territory was inhabited by various nations as the Indus Valley and the Vedic Civilizations before becoming part of British India.

Haryana offers numerous options for tourism because of its important cultural heritage, natural landscapes and historic buildings and monuments. Among the most prominent is the Sultanpur National Park, a special place for bird watching with breathtaking scenery, and the extinct Volcano Dhosi Hill, a site with unique physical characteristics which is also a revered pilgrimage site for Hindus. In the city of Faridabad is worth visiting the Siddhadata Temple Complex and the Shiva Temple, Gurgaon includes beautiful lakes as Sohna and Damdama and the Leisure Valley Park, in Hisar are a must see the Blue Bird Lake, the Sai Temple and the Sati Mandi, while in Kurukshetra the biggest attractions are the Brahm-sarovar water tank dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Sthanswer Mandir and the Panorma Science Museum. The Haryanvi food is another reason to visit the state for tourism. Its cuisine is characterized by the simplicity, but always with the goal of enjoying each flavor of their meal. Typical dishes include Besan masala roti, Bathua raita, Singri ki sabzi and Tamatar chutney, among others.
